RU, July 7 (V7N)- From now on, students of Rajshahi University (RU) will be able to identify campus rickshaw pullers by their attire alone. The clothing features the words 'Rajshahi University' on the back.
 
On Sunday (July 7) at 11 am, Dr. Asabul Haq, Proctor of the University, initially distributed this attire to 30 rickshaw pullers at the Proctor's Office on the campus. Along with that, their fares within the campus were also fixed.
 
It is found through investigation that students often face inconvenience due to unregulated fares while commuting on campus. They have long demanded designated rickshaw pullers so that they can easily recognize them as university-affiliated.
 
Those rickshaw pullers who have taken the university attire must operate within the campus for their fares. They have been provided with a leaflet outlining the fares.
 
Rickshaw puller Mannan Mia said, "We are very pleased to receive the attire of the university. Now we have become rickshaw pullers on the campus. We feel like members of the university family." Regarding this, Dr. Asabul Haq, Proctor of the University, stated, "I have decided to fix fares between students and pullers so that no conflict arises. We have determined a fare list and distributed it in the form of leaflets in various places."
 
Initially, 30 people were given attire featuring 'Rajshahi University'. More will be added over time.
