Students planned a demonstration that began on Wednesday, July 10 at about 1:00 PM from the campus. Next, in front of the main gate of the institution, they stopped the Dhaka-Pabna highway. The pupils sang a number of phrases throughout this period, calling for the repeal of the quota.
The Dhaka-Pabna highway was closed to traffic because of the barricade. To avoid any unfortunate situations, the police were on high alert.
According to the pupils, "Discrimination has no place in Bangabandhu's Golden Bengal."
The qualifications of ordinary students are compromised by the existing 56% quota system. We want the quota system to be reformed rather than abolished. Maximum 3 to 5 percent is what we want the quota to be. The current ruling rendered by the High Court is not one we agree with. We want the administration and parliament to issue an executive order for quota reform; our campaign is not anti-court. In any other case, we'll keep moving in accordance with the main plan."
During the students' demonstration, the police stayed watchful to avert any unfortunate occurrences, according to Roushan Ali, the Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Pabna Sadar Police Station.
After lifting the roadblock, the students made their way back to the university grounds at about 2:30 PM.
