Rajshahi, Aug 01 (V7N) - In Rajshahi University teachers and students participated in a silent march, which concluded peacefully. However, following the event, some plainclothes agents, directed by the university's proctor and student advisor, reportedly assaulted and detained students unfairly. Despite the presence of police, no action was taken.

After expelling everyone from the campus, the proctor claimed that students had thrown shoes at the police, prompting the detention attempts by plainclothes agents. This claim was disputed by journalists and attendees, who saw no such incident.

We strongly protest this reprehensible act and demand the immediate resignation and public apology of the proctor, student advisor, and anyone involved. We thank the teachers who intervened and assisted students during the attack, ensuring their safe departure from the campus.
