MBSTU, August 3 (V7N) - Students from Mawlana Bhashani Science and Technology University in Tangail forcibly entered the campus after breaking the lock on the main gate.

On Saturday, August 3, a demonstration was held by teachers and students in front of the university’s main gate (Gate No. 1) at 2 p.m. The rally, which saw the participation of approximately 30-40 teachers, included speeches and public addresses.

Later, at 4:12 p.m., the students encircled the main gate, broke the lock, and gained access to the campus. They issued a 12-hour ultimatum and submitted a petition to the Proctor, demanding the reopening of the hall doors within the given time frame.

This action followed the MBSTU administration's decision to bar student entry since July 18 due to the nationwide quota reform protests. Additionally, the University Grants Commission (UGC) had announced the indefinite closure of all public universities starting July 17 and instructed students to vacate the halls by 2:30 p.m.
