Dhaka, Jan 10 (V7N) — Renowned Bangladeshi film actress and former general secretary of the Bangladesh Film Artists Association, Nasrin Akhter Nipun, was detained for questioning at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport on Friday morning. Her scheduled flight to London via Bangladesh Biman was subsequently cancelled.

According to immigration police, the National Security Intelligence Service (NSI) raised objections to Nipun’s departure. Acting on their instructions, airport authorities detained her for further questioning.

An official from the airport immigration police stated, "The NSI raised objections, and we acted accordingly. After reviewing her passport and documents, her trip was halted." However, the specific reasons for the NSI's objections remain undisclosed.

This incident has sparked discussions in the entertainment industry, with many questioning the reasons behind the sudden action. Nipun, known for her prominent roles in Bangladeshi cinema and involvement in the film artists' association, has previously been at the centre of various controversies.

Neither Nipun nor her family has released a statement about the incident. As the situation unfolds, speculation grows about its potential impact on her career and public image.
