Dhaka, Jan 30 (V7N) – Popular Dhaka film actress Pori Moni has made a heartfelt appeal for privacy as discussions about her personal life continue to dominate social media and news outlets. The actress, who has been in the spotlight for various personal issues in recent months, took to Facebook on Thursday to express her frustration over the constant scrutiny.
The latest controversy surrounds her recent bail in a case filed by Savar Boat Club director Nasir Uddin Mahmud on charges of assault, attempted murder, vandalism, and intimidation. Young singer Sheikh Sadi signed her bail bond, leading to speculation about their relationship. In response, Pori Moni requested that people refrain from interfering in her private matters.
"Today, for some reason, I wanted to ask myself many questions," she wrote. "I asked myself: Have I done something in my career to deserve this level of media attention? Why do people focus on my personal life more than my work? Did legends like Shabana, Babita, Kabori, and Rozina have to face such scrutiny?"
She continued, "But before I could ask myself more, I stopped. Because sometimes, life itself becomes more important than career achievements. Every person has the right to live in peace. My first request—please leave me alone for a while. For the sake of Allah, don’t bother me with my personal life outside of my work."
Pori Moni emphasized that, at this moment, her priority is ensuring a good life for her child. "I have endured the most difficult time of my life in the last three or four months. I don’t think I need to explain why. I am a heroine, a woman, and above all, a human being. I appeal to everyone—please have mercy on me. Let me live my life first, and then I will answer all the questions."
Her emotional statement highlights the ongoing struggle of celebrities dealing with public and media pressure, raising questions about the balance between personal privacy and public interest.
