Dhaka, Oct 24 (V7N) — The accused in the high-profile murder case of Dhaka-based film star Salman Shah have been barred from leaving the country, police confirmed. The Ramna Thana police have formally notified immigration authorities at all relevant airports and land ports.

A police source told the media that the move comes as the case is under re-investigation on court orders. Ramna Police Station OC Golam Faruk said, “As per the court’s instructions, the investigation is now at a critical stage. Therefore, no accused is allowed to leave the country.”

Salman Shah, a prominent actor of the 1990s, died on September 6, 1996. His ex-wife, Samira Haque, previously claimed his death was a suicide. Nearly three decades later, following court orders, police have reclassified the case as a murder investigation.

The murder case was filed at Ramna Police Station at midnight on October 20 by Salman Shah’s maternal uncle, Alamgir Kumkum. The case names a total of 11 accused, with Samira Haque as the main suspect. The other accused are: producer Aziz Mohammad Bhai, Don, Latifa Haque Lucy, David, Javed, Farooq, Ruby of Mafia Beauty Center, Abdus Sattar, Saju, and Rizvi Ahmed Farhad.
