Dhaka, Nov 21 (V7N) — A powerful 5.7 magnitude earthquake struck various parts of Bangladesh, including the capital Dhaka, on Friday at 10:38 am. The tremor caused panic among the general public, with reports of structural damage and fatalities.

Several domestic celebrities shared their experiences and concerns on social media. Actor Chanchal Chowdhury wrote on Facebook, “A terrifying experience of the earthquake! Everyone stay safe, stay well, may God protect everyone.”

Musician Shayan Chowdhury Arnab shared a striking photo of his building, showing cracked plaster and damage caused by the tremor, describing the experience as extremely frightening.

Actress Mehjabeen Chowdhury wrote, “Earthquake!! Hope everyone is safe.”

Actress Sadia Ayman prayed for safety, saying, “Alhamdu lillahillazhi najjani minal-bala (All praise is to Allah, who has saved me from danger). I hope and pray that everyone is safe. I have never felt such an earthquake before, it really shook me. May Allah protect us all and keep us in the shadow of His mercy. Amen.”

Actress Samira Khan Mahi urged caution, writing, “An earthquake was felt in Bangladesh a little while ago. Everyone should be careful.”

According to the US Geological Survey (USGS), the epicenter of the earthquake was near Ghorashal, with a magnitude of 5.7. The tremor also affected several neighboring areas, leaving many residents in shock and prompting widespread prayers for safety.
