Dhaka, July 30 (V7N) — Hassan Abidur Reja Jewel, the acclaimed singer, producer, and television host, passed away this morning in Dhaka at the age of 56.
Jewel, who had been battling cancer since 2011, died at 11:53 a.m. while receiving treatment at United Hospital. His funeral prayers will be held at Gulshan Azad Mosque following Asar prayers. He is survived by his wife and daughter.
Jewel, known for his melodious voice and hit songs, began his career in the 1990s and released his debut album, "Kuasha Prohor," in 1993.
