Dhaka, Mar 18 (V7N) –According to the Ministry of Public Administration, government employees will enjoy an extended holiday during the upcoming Eid-ul-Fitr, with a five-day continuous holiday declared.
This Eid may fall on March 31, depending on the moon sighting. Based on this anticipated date, the Ministry of Public Administration has scheduled the five-day holiday to begin on March 29, reports the daily Prothom Alo.
The holiday period will run from March 29 to April 2, which includes the public holiday on Eid day.
The days before and after Eid will be government holidays as per executive order.
However, before the holiday period begins, March 28 will be a weekly holiday (Friday), as well as the holiday for Shab-e-Qadr.
Additionally, March 26 will be observed as the Independence Day holiday, and offices will be open on March 27.
On the other hand, offices will resume on April 3, followed by two consecutive weekly holidays on Friday and Saturday.
Therefore, out of the 11 days from March 26 to April 5, offices will be open for only two days: March 27 and April 3.
According to leave policies, there is no provision to take casual leave between two other types of leave; if taken, it will be considered continuous leave. However, there is an opportunity to take earned leave.
