DHAKA, May 22, (V7N) – Asif Mahmud Shojib Bhuyain, Adviser to the Ministries of Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives, and Youth and Sports, today announced a reduction of up to 20 percent in broadband internet prices at the consumer level.

In a post on his verified Facebook account, Bhuyain stated, "The Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) has implemented this price reduction to enhance accessibility and ease of internet use across the country."

In a separate post, Mahmud provided an update on the nation's financial reserves. He indicated that "The reserve is expected to reach between $27 and $30 billion next month, with a long-term target of $40 billion, which will require time to achieve." He further added, "According to the latest data from the central bank - Bangladesh Bank, as of May 19, the gross reserves stand at $25,444.43 million, while under the International Monetary Fund's (IMF) BPM-6 accounting system, the reserves are currently $20,007.59 million."
