DHAKA, June 5, (V7N) - Home Adviser Lt Gen (retd) Md Jahangir Alam Chowdhury today urged citizens to maintain discipline and cooperate with authorities to ensure law and order and smooth traffic movement, especially ahead of Eid-ul-Azha.
Speaking to reporters after visiting the Gabtoli cattle market, he said, “If everyone follows traffic rules and cooperates during the transport of sacrificial animals, the overall situation will remain stable.”
He noted that cattle prices are relatively lower this year and that animal supply is sufficient, ensuring smooth availability for buyers.
Addressing concerns about unauthorized charges for market space, the adviser clarified: “No one is allowed to collect extra money for space. We have made this clear in our coordination meetings.”
Earlier in the day, he visited Mirpur and Kafrul police stations, as well as the Public Order Management (POM) center in Mirpur, to assess preparations for Eid-related security and traffic control.
