Dhaka, June 30 (V7N) — Activities at the National Board of Revenue (NBR) have returned to normal after officials and employees ended their agitation and resumed duties on Monday morning. The workplace saw full attendance as employees at all levels joined work, bringing relief after several days of stagnation.

The protest programs, including the ‘March for NBR’ and ‘Complete Shutdown’, were withdrawn late Sunday night following mediation by business leaders. NBR Chairman Abdur Rahman Khan arrived at his office at around 8:00 AM, while employees began reporting to duty before 9:00 AM.

Service recipients rushed to the NBR offices, eager to complete work that had been pending during the disruption. A visible law enforcement presence was noted in front of the revenue building to ensure order.

Speaking after the withdrawal of the program, Hasan Mohammad Tarek Rikabder, on behalf of the NBR Reform Unity Council, said, “A positive response has been received on some issues. We welcome the committee formed by the government. The shutdown was withdrawn at the request of the business community to keep all activities running.”
