Dhaka, July 24, (V7N) – Injured and severely burned students remain hospitalized following the devastating crash of a Bangladesh Air Force jet on the campus of Milestone School and College in Uttara, Dhaka.

According to the latest update from the National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery, 44 patients are currently receiving treatment there — most of them children. The condition of eight among them is said to be critical. In total, 57 victims of the crash are undergoing treatment across several hospitals in the capital.

Authorities at the Burn Institute said the victims are being categorized into three groups based on injury severity, and specialized medical treatment is being administered in consultation with doctors from Singapore.

The Press Wing of the Chief Advisor’s Office reported that 13 burn victims have been discharged, while one new patient has been admitted.

Meanwhile, a specialist medical team from India, which arrived in Dhaka late Wednesday night (July 23), visited the National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery on Thursday (July 24) to assist in the treatment of the most seriously injured patients.
