Dhaka, Aug 14 (V7N) – Teacher Mahfuza, 45, undergoing treatment at the National Burn and Plastic Surgery Institute after a fighter jet crashed at Milestone School and College in Uttara, has died. She passed away at 12:45 pm on Thursday (August 14).

Doctors confirmed that 25 percent of her body had been burned. Dr. Shaon Bin Rahman, resident surgeon at the institute, stated that Mahfuza died around 1:15 pm. With her passing, the total number of deaths in the tragic incident has risen to 35.

Currently, 23 people are undergoing treatment at the hospital, while 14 have been discharged. The accident, which occurred on July 21 at approximately 1:18 pm, involved an Air Force F-7 BJI fighter jet crashing into a school building in Uttara. The aircraft immediately caught fire, causing widespread casualties.

More than 150 people were injured in the incident, the majority of whom were children, according to the Ministry of Health.
