DHAKA, Feb 11, (V7N) - The Election Commission (EC) has called on voters to exercise their right to vote without fear and not to be misled by rumours and propaganda circulating on social media and other platforms.

In a press release issued on Wednesday evening, EC Public Relations Director Md. Ruhul Amin Mallick said that a vested group has been spreading false information aimed at discouraging voters from going to polling stations for the referendum and the 13th national parliamentary election.

The commission clarified that voting will be held from 7:30 am to 4:30 pm tomorrow in 299 parliamentary constituencies across the country, excluding Sherpur-3.

The EC assured that all necessary measures have been taken to ensure a safe, secure and peaceful voting environment. Law enforcement agencies have been put on alert to maintain strict security at polling centres nationwide.

Reiterating its commitment to holding free, fair and credible elections, the Election Commission urged voters to ignore any rumours or misleading propaganda and to participate in the democratic process confidently and fearlessly.
