Dhaka, Feb 12, (V7N) – Election Commissioner Brigadier General (Retd) Abul Fazal Md. Sanaullah said Thursday that Bangladesh’s 13th parliamentary polls and referendum were being held peacefully across the country.
Casting his ballot for the first time at Viqarunnisa Noon School and College alongside family members, Sanaullah expressed satisfaction at the atmosphere. “I cast my vote for the first time. Due to my service, I never got the opportunity to exercise my voting rights before. I am happy to see that the election is being conducted very peacefully nationwide,” he said.
He noted that around 150 voters had cast ballots within the first hour at the centre and polling agents expressed satisfaction with the process. Sanaullah added that voters were arriving and leaving smoothly, and he hoped the election would continue peacefully.
Assessing preliminary feedback, the commissioner said voting was progressing “beautifully and peacefully,” with high turnout reported in some rural areas. He emphasized that no allegations of attempts to disrupt the polls had been received so far.
