FEB 12 (V7N) - BNP Chairperson Tarique Rahman has been unofficially declared winner in both Dhaka-17 and Bogura-6 constituencies in the 13th national parliamentary election.
On Thursday night, BNP’s official Facebook page confirmed Rahman’s victories in the two seats.
Earlier in the day, voting began at 7:30 a.m. across 42,779 polling centres nationwide and continued uninterrupted until 4:30 p.m. The election was conducted simultaneously in 299 constituencies, supported by nearly one million security personnel and another one million polling staff.
Alongside the parliamentary election, a nationwide referendum was also held, allowing voters to express their views on proposed constitutional amendments. Centre-based results are currently being announced across the country.
