The team from Bangladesh is being led by Foreign Minister Hasan Mahmud at the 19th NAM Summit, which got underway on Friday in Kampala, the capital of Uganda.

The 19th NAM Summit, held at the Speke Resort Munyonyo Convention Center with the theme "Deepening Cooperation for Shared Global Affluence," will run until January 20.

Hasan's departure from the multilateral tour to Uganda was originally scheduled on January 17, but it was postponed by one day because of a flight cancellation in the fog and low visibility.

The Non-Aligned Movement (NAM), which was founded in 1961 and has 120 members, 44 of which are Commonwealth members, is an alliance of primarily developing nations collaborating to achieve common goals.
In order to continue Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's march towards development and prosperity, the foreign secretary further emphasized the advancements made under her direction and said that the people of Bangladesh re-elected her in a "free, fair, peaceful, and participatory" election.

Additionally, he advocated for the creation of efficient NAM institutions to assist the NAM nations in graduating from LDCs and to handle the fallout thereafter.

The foreign secretary expressed Bangladesh's unwavering support for the Palestinian people's rightful and legitimate struggle for independence from Israeli occupation and oppression while attending the NAM Ministerial Committee on Palestine.

Additionally, he urged Movement participants to employ all available means to obtain an instant cease-fire in GAZA .
In order to secure shared global prosperity, Bangladesh demanded at the ministerial level meeting that member states of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) show more solidarity and togetherness.

After completing the Kampala Declaration and the declaration on Palestine, which are anticipated to be adopted at the 19th NAM Summit, which is set to take place on January 19–20, the two-day ministerial conference on NAM came to a close on January 18.

The father of the nation, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, emphasised the values of self-reliance and effective economic cooperation among the non-aligned countries in a 1973 statement made at the NAM Summit in Algiers. This statement, made by Foreign Secretary Masud Bin Momen, representing Bangladesh at the ministerial-level meeting, is still relevant today, fifty years later.
