Dhaka, Oct 10 (V7N) — BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi raised concerns over the bail granted to former minister Saber Hossain Chowdhury, citing his alleged involvement in the killing of student leaders and BNP members during protests. Rizvi expressed his astonishment at the decision while speaking at a protest rally organized in the Khilgaon area of the capital on Thursday.

Referring to violent incidents that occurred in Khilgaon's Sabuj Bagh area during the student movement, Rizvi questioned how Chowdhury, who he claims has a history of orchestrating attacks on students and opposition figures, was allowed to walk free. He also pointed out that Dr. Asif Nazrul, who was Saber Hossain’s legal advisor, also received bail in a separate case.

Rizvi further criticized what he described as a mockery of justice, stating that the mastermind behind disappearances and murders is now free to shop in Delhi, casting doubt over who permitted such freedom of movement abroad.

Saber Hossain Chowdhury was granted bail on Tuesday in six separate cases and was released from Dhaka’s Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) court later that evening.
