Dhaka, Dec 07 (V7N) — BNP Vice Chairman Shamsuzzaman Dudu has alleged that India is engaging in conspiracies against Bangladesh as the country moves towards holding fair elections under an interim government. He called for resistance against such "malicious attempts" during a protest organized by the Bangladesh Jagrata Party on Saturday morning in front of the National Press Club.

The protest was held in response to an attack on the Bangladesh Deputy High Commission in Agartala by alleged religious extremists and the reported desecration of Bangladesh's national flag.

In his speech, Dudu criticized India, stating, “While we strive for fair elections, our neighboring country is hatching conspiracies. These must be resisted.” He further expressed hope that India would act as a genuine friend to Bangladesh, noting, "They have nothing to learn from democracy. When mosques are demolished there, they are not discussed."

Dudu also spoke about BNP’s acting chairman, Tarique Rahman, who has been in exile for 18 years. "Tarique Rahman has been away from his country for almost two decades, but he has tirelessly supported the people's movements and worked for the mass uprising," he added.

The event highlighted growing concerns about external interference in Bangladesh's internal affairs as political tensions escalate ahead of the upcoming elections.
