Dhaka, Dec 21 (V7N) — Jatiya Party Chairman Mustafa Jamal Haider, who leads the 12-party alliance, confirmed that fruitful discussions were held with the BNP regarding the current political situation in the country. The meeting took place on Saturday afternoon at the BNP Chairperson's political office in Gulshan.
Speaking to reporters after the meeting, Haider stated, "We discussed how to move forward in light of the political situation in the country. However, no concrete decisions were made regarding the future political program."
Haider also mentioned that the necessary unity among anti-fascist movements has yet to be solidified. Discussions focused on potential future programs but remained inconclusive.
BNP Standing Committee member Nazrul Islam Khan echoed similar sentiments, stating that the meeting was primarily an exchange of views on the prevailing political circumstances. He added, "If any decisions are made based on these discussions, they will be announced in due course."
The BNP's liaison committee plans to hold further meetings with the Like-Minded Alliance and the Labor Party.
The BNP delegation was led by Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, accompanied by standing committee members Nazrul Islam Khan, Begum Selima Rahman, and Vice Chairman Abdul Awal Mintu.
