Dhaka, Jan 22 (V7N)—Jatiya Party Chairman GM Quader has said that discrimination against the Jatiya Party has started, and the government is trying to marginalize them politically.
He said: "Our normal political activities are being hindered, and false harassment cases are being filed against our leaders and activists. It seems like we are victims of modern-day fascism."
He made these remarks during a discussion meeting with leaders from Narsingdi district at the Jatiya Party chairman's office in Banani on Wednesday.
The Jatiya Party chairman further said: "The country is not being run properly. Nobody can guarantee that the law and order situation is under the government's control. The rise in commodity prices has created distress among the people. Ordinary citizens cannot manage their expenses with their current income."
He warned: "If the weak law and order situation increases the number of hungry people, it may create social unrest under any pretext. Social instability could harm the country's trade and commerce, and both domestic and foreign investments could collapse."
GM Quader further said that this could have a significant negative impact on the economy.
If the law and order situation and the economic condition deteriorate, it may lead to political instability and dangerous scenarios.
"The current government is unable to run the country normally. They are trying, and their intentions are not lacking, but they are not succeeding. Many of their directives and plans are not being implemented effectively, which is the reality," said the Jatiya Party chairman.
The organizational discussion meeting of the Narsingdi district Jatiya Party’s approved 111-member committee was presided over by Dhaka divisional Additional Secretary-General Liaquat Hossain Khoka.
