Dhaka, Feb 13 (V7N) – The Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) has stated that it does not support holding local government elections before the national elections and is also against the proportional voting system.

- Opposition to proportional voting, as the people are not familiar with the system.
- Welcomed the UN statement, claiming it proved Sheikh Hasina’s authoritarian rule.
- Called on India to send Sheikh Hasina back amid allegations of human rights violations.
- Left the decision of banning Awami League to public opinion.
Fakhrul also mentioned that during the meeting, the British High Commissioner inquired about the election timeline and bilateral relations between Bangladesh and the UK.
