Dhaka, Mar 02 (V7N) – The Election Commission (EC) has published the updated national voter list, showing a 1.54% increase in the total number of voters compared to last year. The total number of voters now stands at 123,732,274, according to an announcement by Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) AMM Nasir Uddin at the National Voters' Day event in Agargaon on Sunday (March 2).

Last year, on March 2, 2024, the total number of registered voters was 121,850,160. The 1.54% increase in voter numbers reflects ongoing efforts to include new eligible citizens in the electoral process.
Chief Election Commissioner AMM Nasir Uddin reaffirmed the EC’s commitment to conducting free, fair, and acceptable elections and urged for cooperation from all stakeholders.
"We are continuously updating the voter list by going door to door to ensure that every eligible citizen gets registered," said the CEC.
The voter list update process, which began on January 20, is part of preparations for the upcoming 13th National Parliament elections. So far, information on over 5 million new potential voters has been collected. The final voter count will be determined by June 2025 after adding newly registered voters and removing deceased individuals from the list.
