Lakshmipur, Aug 22 (V7N) – Addressing leaders and activists at the biennial conference of Upazila and Municipal BNP at Alexander Model Government High School ground in Ramgati Upazila, BNP Joint Secretary General Shahid Uddin Chowdhury Annie emphasized the need to practice politics for service and respect, rather than for personal gain.

Speaking Friday afternoon, Annie said, “We have to move away from the idea that someone becomes a leader and acts like a moralist. We cannot do politics for income.”

He also highlighted the party’s commitment to building the country under the leadership of Tarique Rahman, stating, “This is a challenge for us. We must remember the words of the previous fascist government and ensure that the politics of the past 17 years do not continue.”

Annie further added, “After August 5, Tarique Rahman is determined to work uncompromisingly like Khaleda Zia, nurturing the dream of Ziaur Rahman. He will give us a new style of politics and social system.”

The conference drew leaders and activists from across the upazila and municipal units, focusing on party reforms and future strategies.
