Dhaka, Mar 07 (V7N) – The second day of the training workshop for BNP party members of parliament is underway ahead of the first session of the 13th National Parliament.
The workshop began at 10:00 am on Saturday at the BNP chairman’s party office in Gulshan, Dhaka. In the morning session, members of parliament (MPs) from Dhaka district, Mymensingh, Faridpur, and Dhaka divisions participated, while MPs from Sylhet, Comilla, and Chittagong divisions are scheduled for the afternoon session.
The program aims to provide newly elected MPs with guidance on parliamentary procedures, code of conduct, bill formulation and review, budget analysis, and parliamentary committee activities.
Salahuddin Ahmed, a member of the party’s standing committee, said, “BNP wants to come out of the bad culture of parliament. The new MPs will work to fulfill public expectations. Training is being provided for this purpose.”
Experienced MPs, parliamentary experts, and academics are sharing insights on the roles and responsibilities of parliamentarians and cabinet members, highlighting strategies to make parliament more effective.
Out of 208 BNP parliamentarians who took oath in the 13th parliamentary election, 146 are entering parliament for the first time, making the training workshop particularly important for preparing the new lawmakers.
