PABNA, March 29, 2026 (V7N) — President Md. Shahabuddin met with journalists at the Pabna Press Club on Sunday evening, the second day of his four‑day official visit to his home district.

Arriving shortly after 7 pm, the President was greeted with flowers by Press Club President Akhtaruzzaman Akhtar, General Secretary Zahurul Islam, and Square Group Director Anjan Chowdhury Pintu, a life member of the club.

In the VIP auditorium, the President reminisced about his Liberation War days, journalistic career, and childhood in Pabna, sharing laughter and light‑hearted moments with fellow journalists. He enjoyed his favorite local snacks — fried chira, singara, and potato chop — while chatting with colleagues and friends.

Speakers at the event included former Press Club presidents Professor Shivjit Nag and Rabiul Islam Robi, freedom fighters Anjan Chowdhury Pintu, Baby Islam, Khandaker Mahbub Elahi Bishu, Muktar Hossain, veteran journalist Abdul Matin Khan, and others.

Earlier in the day, the President visited the graves of his parents at Arifpur Sadar Cemetery. On Monday, he is scheduled to visit Bhabanipur Mosque in Pabna Sadar and later his residence in the Jubilee Tank area. On Tuesday, after receiving a guard of honour at the Circuit House, he will depart for Bangabhaban by helicopter.
