Panchagarh, Jun 09 (V7N) — Sarjis Alam, the Chief Organizer of the National Citizens Party (NCP) for the northern region, has emphasized the need for visible reforms in the judiciary, law enforcement agencies, and the Election Commission before holding the next national election. He stated that if these reforms are ensured under the interim government, there would be no disagreement about conducting the election in April.

He made these remarks while addressing reporters at the Chowrangi intersection in Panchagarh district town on Monday afternoon.

“In the past, we have witnessed irregularities during elections, including abuse of power, the influence of black money, misuse of muscle power, occupying polling stations, and stealing ballots. These incidents must not be repeated,” Sarjis said. “We want a level playing field this time, where all political parties—big or small—can participate in a free, fair, and competitive election.”

In response to questions from journalists, Sarjis further stressed that no citizen or political entity should be subjected to harassment or abuse of power. He urged the interim government to act with full professionalism to prevent any repetition of election-related violence or irregularities seen in the past.

National Citizens Party (NCP) Chief Organizer for the southern region, Hasnat Abdullah, and NCP Sadar Upazila Branch Coordinator, Tanbirul Bari Nayan, were also present during the event.

Prior to the press briefing, Sarjis Alam and other party leaders exchanged post-Eid greetings with supporters and activists at the Chowrangi intersection.
