Dhaka, Nov 2 (V7N)- The National Citizens Party (NCP) has announced plans to finalize its candidates for 300 parliamentary seats this month, emphasizing the need for elections in February to ensure the country’s political stability.

Party convener Nahid Islam made the remarks during a briefing on contemporary political issues at Bangla Motor in Dhaka on Sunday (November 2). He also alleged that certain parties are obstructing elections and delaying reforms.

“NCP sees elections and reforms as two separate activities,” Nahid Islam said. He criticized Jamaat-e-Islami for making the referendum the main political issue, noting that decisions regarding it will be made by the government and Election Commission. “If there is dissent, there will be no referendum or consensus,” he added.

On the July Charter, Nahid accused political parties of betraying the nation by signing it. He stressed that NCP is open to alliances or compromises with any party willing to support reforms and national demands.
