Dhaka, Dec 04 (V7N) — Jamaat-e-Islami will hold a protest rally in the capital, on Thursday, condemning the killing of two Bangladeshi nationals by India’s Border Security Force (BSF) along the Shibganj frontier in Chapainawabganj. The party alleges that the two men were murdered and their bodies were dumped into the Padma River.

Jamaat Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman criticized the repeated border killings, saying that although the Indian government has repeatedly promised to end such incidents, the killings have continued without accountability. He questioned whether India is genuinely committed to stopping these “inhumane actions.”

Speakers at the party’s preparatory meeting described the killing and subsequent disposal of the bodies in the river as an extreme violation of human rights, stating that such actions portray India as “a nation engaging in barbaric behavior.” They urged the interim government of Bangladesh to take strong diplomatic and legal steps in response.

According to reports, on November 30, BSF personnel allegedly killed two Bangladeshi youths near the Shibganj border and threw their bodies into the Padma River. In a Facebook post on Wednesday, the Jamaat Ameer wrote, “How many more lives must be lost at the border? Two young Bangladeshis were brutally hacked to death, and their bodies were dumped into the Padma River—these are extremely grave allegations. We urge the Bangladesh government to treat this matter with utmost seriousness, conduct a thorough investigation, and take appropriate action.”

He also called for effective and visible measures to prevent such tragic incidents in the future and ensure the safety of Bangladeshi citizens living near border areas.
