Khulna/Raj, Dec 24 (V7N) — To facilitate the travel of Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) leaders and activists to Dhaka for the return of acting party chairman Tarique Rahman, the West Zone Railway Authority has arranged four special trains on Thursday, December 25. The operation of these special trains has led to the temporary suspension of three regular train services for a day.

West Zone Railway General Manager Farid Ahmed confirmed the arrangement and stated that one special train has been allocated for each of the following routes: Khulna-Dhaka-Khulna, Jessore-Dhaka-Jessore, Chatmohar-Dhaka Cantonment-Chatmohar, and Panchagarh-Dhaka-Panchagarh. The trains will operate on both up and down routes to accommodate requests from BNP leaders, enabling travel for approximately 1,900 passengers.

He added that, due to the deployment of these special trains for BNP activists, the regular services of the following trains have been temporarily suspended on December 25: Rajbari Commuter (Rajbari-Pordah), Dhalarchar Express (Pabna-Rajshahi), and Rahanpur Commuter (Rahanpur-Rajshahi).

Farid Ahmed expressed regret for any inconvenience caused to regular passengers due to the temporary suspension of these services and assured that normal schedules would resume immediately after the special arrangements.
