Dhaka, Jan 16 (V7N) — A condolence meeting organized by the civic society in memory of former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia will be held this afternoon at the South Plaza of the National Parliament Building.

The event will take place at 2:30 pm on Friday (January 16).

The information was disclosed by Professor Mahbub Ullah on behalf of the civic society at a press conference held at the Krishibid Institute in the capital on Thursday afternoon.

BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman is expected to be present at the condolence meeting. The organizers said that strict security measures and extensive preparations have been put in place to ensure the smooth conduct of the program.

The civic society has invited prominent citizens, intellectuals, and people from various professions to attend the event. Representatives of foreign missions will also participate in the condolence meeting.

According to the organizing committee, only invited representatives from professional and civic platforms will speak at the event. No representatives from political parties will address the gathering.

Several guidelines have been issued for participants. The organizers have requested attendees to avoid selfies, clapping, or standing during the program. Participants have also been asked to wear black and white attire as a mark of respect.

The venue gates will open at 12 noon. Guests entering through Gate No. 6 must use the designated entry point and exit through Asad Gate. Those arriving via Gates No. 1 and 12 are instructed to park their vehicles at the old Trade Fair grounds. Visitors may also enter on foot through Gate No. 12 (Bakultala Gate).
