Chittagong, Jan 28 (V7N) — BNP Standing Committee member and party-nominated candidate for Chittagong-11 constituency Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury has alleged that a group has been conspiring from the outset to sabotage the election process.
He made the remarks while addressing a public meeting at Salt Gola Crossing and adjacent areas of Chittagong city on Wednesday.
Amir Khasru said that those who lack trust in the people of the country seek to pursue politics through violence and chaos rather than democratic means.
“Those who do not believe in the people want to do politics through disorder,” he said.
Highlighting the role of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) in the country’s democratic journey, he claimed that BNP practices democracy in its true form.
“The democratic movement in Bangladesh has progressed because of BNP,” he said, adding that for the past 17 years, the people’s movement to reclaim their rights has been moving toward realization.
He further stated that whenever the country faced crises, people placed their trust in BNP.
“Today, the people of Bangladesh are moving forward with confidence in Tarique Rahman and the BNP to overcome the ongoing challenges,” he added.
Following the meeting, Amir Khasru held mass gatherings in several areas of the city, including South Central Halishahar, Nishchintapara Ward Office, Chandarpara, Bakerali Tech, Sitepara, and Hindu Para, as part of his campaign activities.
