The foreign minister, Dr. AK Abdul Momen, stated on Wednesday that they do not want to see any proxy wars in the region, highlighting the necessity of peace and stability for better growth.

"We do not want to see any proxy conflict here, and that is our fundamental objective. Even with resources, there are still issues where proxy warfare is evident. He told reporters, "Europe has become embroiled in a proxy war and is facing challenges. There may be attempts to weaken the countries in the region."

According to Momen, other nations recognise Bangladesh's leadership in the region. "We benefit from this."

Among the nations the foreign minister mentioned were those that are quickly becoming significant regional allies: South Korea, Indonesia, Japan, and Malaysia.

Momen stated that they have never experienced outside pressure but that they want to ensure that the election is held in a free, fair, and peaceful way in response to a query about outside pressure ahead of the upcoming national election.

Momen mentioned that Bangladesh's friends and development partners are the US, the EU, and India.

"With these nations, we have a long history of relations. The foreign minister remarked, "Our relationship with them is multidimensional.

Momen claimed that although the US sided with Pakistan against Bangladesh in the Liberation War of 1971, it has subsequently begun to help Bangladesh ever since it gained its independence.

In all other respects, they (the US) have helped us. Since India's independence, we have maintained excellent ties with it, and their relationship is currently experiencing a golden period. And a major market for us is the EU," he clarified.

Momen stated that the BNP is a terrorist organisation rather than a democratic party in response to a query concerning the party. Nobody is fond of terrorists. Their maturity is lacking.

The foreign minister declared that they do not wish to see democracy destroyed, but rather that the current democratic movement in the nation be continued. "We oppose terrorism. The Western nations aim to achieve these objectives. We're alongside them.

He claimed that their goal is to show that free, fair, and acceptable elections can be held in Bangladesh. "People gave their lives to defend democracy only in our nation."

Momen stated in response to a question that the US should stand by its commitment and enforce its visa rules against those attempting to hinder the polls.

"If they truly implement the visa policy for anyone who interfere with voting, I will be overjoyed. But it's their problem," he remarked.

Momen added that despite their claims of democracy, the BNP is a terrorist organisation. Terrorists are disliked by all.

The foreign minister stated that there is no need to panic because the Election Commission is extremely powerful this time. He called on everyone to get up and joyously cast their votes.

He claimed that because of its expanding exports, favourable investment climate, and sensible foreign policy, Bangladesh has drawn the attention of many. "There has been a noticeable impact from our foreign policy."
