Tangail, Aug 26 (V7N) - Salahuddin Ahmed, a member of the BNP's Standing Committee and former Minister, has affirmed that the BNP is dedicated to creating a sovereign and genuinely democratic Bangladesh with the participation of everyone. He made this statement during a visit to the family of Polash, a victim of the anti-discrimination student movement, in Bhuyanpur, Tangail, on Monday (August 26). During the visit, he extended condolences to the martyr’s family on behalf of BNP's Acting Chairman, Tarique Rahman, and reiterated the party's commitment to reviving democracy.
Salahuddin emphasized the party's aim to establish a secular Bangladesh as dreamed of by the martyrs, where human rights will be respected. He outlined a vision for a Bangladesh free from discrimination, marked by human dignity, social justice, and the upholding of constitutional and democratic rights. He expressed a desire to move forward with progress.
BNP's Publicity Secretary and former Youth Wing President, Sultan Salahuddin Tuku, added that politics driven by revenge would not resurface in Bangladesh.
Following the visit, they paid their respects at Polash's grave and then participated in a public gathering at the Bhuyanpur bus stand. The event was attended by Dhaka Division Assistant Organizing Secretary Obaidul Haq Nasir, District BNP President Hasanuzzamil Shahin, General Secretary Farhad Iqbal, former Member Secretary Mahmudul Haque Sanu, and other BNP leaders and activists.
