Dhaka, July 1 (V7N) — The Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) has organized a special program today to honor the families of martyrs and those injured during the historic July-August uprising, as well as victims of enforced disappearances and killings over the past 16 years.

The event will begin at 3 pm at the Hall of Fame of the China Friendship Conference Center in Dhaka. Families of those who sacrificed their lives or were injured in the July uprising, as well as relatives of individuals subjected to disappearances and extrajudicial killings during various movements, are expected to attend.

As part of the program, a discussion titled “National Unity and Democratic Movement” will be held, bringing together leaders from various political parties to exchange views on the current political situation.

BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia will deliver a video address as the chief guest, while Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman will preside over the program.

Party leaders emphasized that the sacrifices made during the July-August uprising must not be forgotten. They reiterated the call for national unity, the continuation of the anti-fascist struggle, and the establishment of a people’s government through fair elections following judicial reforms and speedy trials.
