DHAKA, March 28, (V7N) — State Minister for Youth and Sports Md. Aminul Haque has expressed deep shock and sorrow at the death of Dilara Hafiz, wife of Jatiya Sangsad Major (retd) Hafiz Uddin Ahmed, Bir Bikram.
Dilara Hafiz was a former Director General of the Department of Secondary and Higher Education and former Principal of Eden Women’s College.
In a condolence message, Aminul Haque said: “Dilara Hafiz was a dedicated educationist. Her contribution to the expansion of the country’s education sector and administrative efficiency will be remembered forever. In her death, the country has lost a worthy guardian.”
Reflecting on Hafiz Uddin Ahmed’s legacy, the minister added: “Respected Hafiz Uddin Ahmed, Bir Bikram, is not only a successful politician and guardian of the parliament, he was a legend in the football field of our country.” He recalled Ahmed’s role as captain of Dhaka Mohammedan Sporting Club, Dhaka University, and combined university teams, as well as his tenure as President of the Bangladesh Football Federation.
The minister noted that Dilara Hafiz had been a source of courage and inspiration to her husband through every challenge. He extended his deepest condolences to the bereaved family and prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul.
