Dhaka, July 21 (V7N) - On Monday, July 21, a Bangladesh Air Force training aircraft tragically crashed into Milestone School and College in the Uttara area of Dhaka, resulting in the deaths of several schoolchildren and leaving many others critically injured.
 
According to an official statement from the Ministry of Education's Secondary and Higher Education Division, the incident occurred at approximately 1:30 PM. The aircraft, which was on a routine training mission, lost control mid-air before crashing into the school premises during active school hours.
 
Eyewitnesses reported a loud explosion followed by a large fireball as the aircraft made impact. A number of students, who were present in classrooms and school grounds at the time, were caught in the blaze. Rescue operations began immediately with the help of local residents, firefighters, and security personnel. Several students died on the spot from burn injuries, while others were transported to nearby hospitals in critical condition.
 
In its official condolence message, the Ministry of Education expressed deep sorrow over the loss of young lives, stating, "We are profoundly saddened by this tragic incident. Our prayers are with the departed souls, and we extend our heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families. We are also praying for the swift recovery of the injured students who are currently under medical care."
 
As of now, authorities have not released the exact number of fatalities or the cause of the crash. Investigations are underway by the Bangladesh Air Force and civil aviation authorities to determine the circumstances leading to the accident. The school has been temporarily closed, and a crisis response team has been dispatched to provide psychological support to survivors and affected families.
