Dhaka, Oct 31 (V7N)- The Jatiya Party (JaPa) headquarters in the capital's Bijaynagar area was attacked, vandalized, and set on fire by a group of students and workers on Thursday evening. The assault was reportedly carried out by protesters from a group named the "Anti-Fascist Student, Workers, People," who assembled earlier at Dhaka University's Raju Sculpture, voicing opposition to what they described as "political machinations and anti-national conspiracies" by the ruling Awami League and its ally, JaPa.

The protest march, led by students bearing torches, specifically condemned JaPa’s political activities, asserting that the party, as an ally of the Awami League, should not have a role in national politics. Clashes ensued between the protesters and JaPa supporters outside the party's office in Bijaynagar, leaving several injured.

Hasnat Abdullah, a prominent figure in the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement, took to his verified Facebook page, denouncing JaPa as "national traitors" and accusing them of attacking his group’s activists with weapons. In a post around 7:03 pm, Hasnat stated, "This national traitor, the Jatiya Party, has attacked our brothers in Bijaynagar with weapons and is parading with arms. We must ensure the expulsion of these national traitors."

Soon after, he shared another post rallying support, calling for a march from the Raju Sculpture to Bijaynagar, declaring, "We must eliminate the national traitors."
