"A detailed discussion was held between the Bangladesh Prime Minister and the German Chancellor about ending wars, particularly the Russia-Ukraine war and attack on Gaza."

Bangladesh and Germany have decided that ending the Gaza onslaught and the Russia-Ukraine war is the wisest course of action.

On Saturday, during the Munich Security Conference 2024, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina conducted bilateral meetings, during which a consensus was reached.

Foreign Minister Dr. Hasan Mahmud briefed the media on the conclusion of the meeting between the two leaders, saying, "A detailed discussion was held between the Bangladesh Prime Minister and the German Chancellor about ending wars, particularly the Russia-Ukraine war and attack on Gaza."

The conference location, Hotel Bayerischer Hof, hosted the meeting between the two leaders on Saturday afternoon.

The German Chancellor and the Premier of Bangladesh both concurred that no one will gain from war.

Dr. Hasan Mahmud stated, paraphrasing the German Chancellor, "The only process of establishing peace is to stop war."

The German Chancellor was urged by the prime minister to invest in Bangladesh's IT industry, among other areas, given Germany's leadership in high-tech industries.

Bangladesh is creating 100 economic zones nationwide, Sheikh Hasina mentioned, adding, "Germany can invest in Bangladesh."

The German Chancellor accepted the invitation from the Prime Minister to visit Bangladesh.

Sheikh Hasina recalled Germany's role in helping to reconstruct an independent Bangladesh following the Liberation War.

Since Germany is the top export destination for Bangladeshi goods inside the EU, the two leaders also talked about increasing the amount of goods that Bangladesh exports there.

They also discussed bringing qualified workers from Bangladesh to Germany, which welcomes skilled laborers from all around the world.

In a cordial and long-overdue bilateral encounter, Olaf Scholz once more congratulated Sheikh Hasina on being re-elected to the position of prime minister of Bangladesh for a record-breaking fifth term.

The Bangladeshi prime minister was visited earlier in the morning at this conference location by the German Federal Minister for Economic Cooperation and Development.

She made Germany an offer at the conference to invest in economic zones that were being established all throughout the nation. Among those in attendance were Md. Mosharraf Hossain Bhuiyan, the ambassador to Germany, and Senior Secretary of Foreign Affairs Masud Bin Momen.

On February 15, in the evening, Sheikh Hasina landed in Germany to attend the three-day MSC 2024.
