Dhaka, Feb 18 (V7N) – The Teesta Master Plan is expected to be submitted by October, according to Syeda Rizwana Hasan, Advisor on Environment, Forests, and Climate Change.

She made this announcement on Tuesday after a meeting on the final day of the District Commissioners' Conference at the Osmani Memorial Auditorium.

Addressing concerns about the upcoming election, Advisor Rizwana emphasized that it will be held under a non-partisan government. She assured that there is "no scope for District Commissioners (DCs) to have party affiliations."

"If any political party raises complaints, they will be investigated, and necessary action will be taken," she added.

Advisor Rizwana also outlined several environmental protection measures, including:

  • Campaigns to rescue river forests and prevent mountain deforestation.
  • Demarcation and protection of the reserved Sal forest in Madhupur.
  • Discussion on returning 51 acres of reserved forest land in Cox’s Bazar.

Additionally, she stressed the importance of reducing plastic waste, stating that "instructions have been given to prohibit the use of single-use plastic in government offices."
