How hot will it get during Ramadan?

Dhaka, Mar 02 (V7N) – The Bangladesh Meteorological Department has said the temperature during the holy month of Ramadan, which will last throughout March, is expected to be higher than normal.

The BMD issued a long-term forecast for March on Sunday, providing details about this month’s forecast and the situation from the previous month.


After March 9, the temperature may rise steadily, it said. "By the end of the month, one or two heatwaves are likely to occur, and there is also a possibility of thunderstorms," the forecast said.

The weather forecast for March is as follows:

Rainfall is likely to be below normal over the country.
There is no possibility of any cyclone/depression over the Bay of Bengal
One to two mild (36-38)°C or moderate (38-40)°C heatwaves are likely to occur over western and southwestern parts of the country
Day and night temperatures may increase gradually. Day and night temperatures are likely to be above normal over the country.
There is a possibility of two to three days of light/moderate thunderstorms with hail and one day of severe thunderstorms with hail in some places over the country
The water flow of main rivers may be normal in this month
The average daily evaporation may be 3-5mm; the average daily sunshine duration in March may range from 5.75 to 6.75 hours.
