DHAKA, May 19, (V7N)– As of today, a total of 50,317 Bangladeshi Hajj pilgrims have arrived in Saudi Arabia via 127 flights. Tragically, eight pilgrims have passed away.

The outbound Hajj flights for Bangladeshi pilgrims traveling to Saudi Arabia are scheduled to conclude on May 31st.

Md. Lokman Hossain, Director of the Hajj Office under the Ministry of Religious Affairs, confirmed these figures today.

According to the latest Hajj bulletin, Biman Bangladesh Airlines has operated 64 flights, carrying 25,111 pilgrims. Saudi Airlines has conducted 43 flights with 16,941 pilgrims, while Flynas Airlines has transported 8,265 pilgrims on 20 flights.

Of the pilgrims who have reached Saudi Arabia, 4,583 are traveling under government management, and 45,321 are under private management.

This year, a total of 5,062 pilgrims have registered under the government's Hajj program, and 81,121 have registered through private arrangements.

The first Hajj flight departed from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport on April 29th. Outbound flights are scheduled to continue until May 31st.

This year's Hajj is expected to take place on June 5th, contingent upon the sighting of the moon. Return flights for Bangladeshi pilgrims are scheduled to begin on June 10th and conclude on July 10th.
