On Sunday, January 7, voting in Rajshahi-1 started at 8 a.m., and the counting process got underway at 4 p.m. With 219,653 male and 220,564 female voters, the constituency has 440,218 total voters.

Actress Mahiya Mahi received an unexpected result in the 12th national election preliminary results. Despite running a commendable campaign, Mahiya Mahi was unable to collect any votes in 17 Rajshahi-1 polling stations (Godagari and Tanore).

Mahi received 8,262 votes under the truck symbol out of 136 polling places. But her failure to receive support in a substantial amount of stations caused people to take notice, which was a difficult result for the well-known actress.
With an astounding 86,846 votes, Omar Farooq Chowdhury, the Awami League candidate and current member of parliament, became victorious in the constituency. Ghulam Rabbani, an independent candidate, trailed closely behind with 74,261 votes cast under the Kanchi symbol.

Mahiya Mahi issued a statement after the results, indicating her acceptance of the verdict. Regardless of the outcome of the election, she emphasized her unflinching commitment to helping the local community in the coming days.
