Dhaka, Oct 20 (V7N) — The Election Commission (EC) has held an important meeting with representatives of various law enforcement agencies to ensure that the upcoming 13th National Parliamentary Election is conducted in a free, fair, and peaceful manner.

The exchange of views began at 10:30 a.m. on Monday (October 20) at the Election Commission Building in Agargaon, Dhaka.

A total of 18 senior officials from different security and intelligence agencies attended the meeting, including the Senior Secretary of the Ministry of Home Affairs, representatives of the Army, Navy, and Air Force, the Inspector General of Police (IGP), the Director Generals (DGs) of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB), Ansar and VDP, National Telecommunication Monitoring Center (NTMC), National Security Intelligence (NSI), and the Directorate General of Forces Intelligence (DGFI).

This marks the first coordination meeting between the EC led by Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) AMM Nasir Uddin and top law enforcement officials as part of the commission’s preparations for the national polls.

Four Election Commissioners, the EC Secretary, and other senior officials were also present during the session.

According to sources, the meeting focused on security coordination, intelligence sharing, and operational planning to maintain law and order throughout the election process. The EC emphasized that cooperation from all forces is crucial to guarantee that the elections are conducted smoothly and without intimidation.

Further meetings with administrative officials and local election officers are expected to follow as part of the EC’s roadmap toward a credible and transparent electoral process.
