Bogra, Feb 27 (V7N) — The much-anticipated Family Card program will be officially launched on March 10, with Prime Minister Tarique Rahman set to inaugurate the initiative in Bogra Sadar Upazila. This was confirmed on Friday by Minister of Social Welfare and Minister of Women and Children Affairs AZM Zahid Hossain.
The Family Card was a key promise in the BNP’s manifesto during the 13th National Parliament elections. Following the formation of the government, the program is being launched on a trial basis before Eid. Field-level preparations, including the collection of information to identify eligible families, are already underway.
Under the program, each registered family will receive financial assistance of 2,500 taka per month. The initiative will target women from the poorest and lower-income households, with one woman per family designated as the cardholder.
The pilot phase of the Family Card program will run for four months, serving as an experimental rollout before full-scale implementation.
