DHAKA, March 6,  (V7N) – UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan phoned Prime Minister Tarique Rahman on Thursday to discuss the need for an immediate halt to military escalation in the Middle East following US and Israeli attacks on Iran.  

The call took place around 4 pm, Prime Minister’s Press Secretary Saleh Shibly said. Both leaders underscored the urgency of stopping the escalation and highlighted its serious implications for regional and global security. They also affirmed the importance of dialogue and diplomacy in finding a peaceful solution.  

During the conversation, the Prime Minister invited Sheikh Mohamed to visit Bangladesh, which he accepted, saying he would come soon. Tarique Rahman expressed gratitude to the UAE for supporting Bangladeshi nationals living there.  

The Prime Minister also conveyed solidarity with the UAE and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC). Sheikh Mohamed thanked him for standing by the UAE amid rising tensions and expressed appreciation for the support extended by UAE Minister of State for International Cooperation Reem bint Ebrahim Al Hashimy, as well as the UAE Ambassador and Embassy in Dhaka.
