Prime Minister and Awami League President Sheikh Hasina embarked on a poignant journey to Tungipara, Gopalganj, to pay homage to the tomb of the Father of the Nation, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

Arriving at the sacred site at around 10 am on Friday, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, accompanied by her younger sister Sheikh Rehana, solemnly paid her respects at the tomb. Standing in silent reverence, she then joined in prayers, offering heartfelt remembrance to the departed soul of Bangabandhu.

The visit, part of a one-day itinerary, saw Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina depart from Ganabhaban in the early hours of the morning, reaching Tungipara by 9:45 am.

During her time in Tungipara, the Prime Minister engaged with members of the Dariyakul Village Development Association, interacting closely with constituents. Additionally, she oversaw the distribution of agricultural and educational materials to underprivileged farmers and sewing machines to distressed women, reaffirming her commitment to uplifting marginalized communities.

In a symbolic gesture, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina also visited the Tungipara Upazila Model Mosque and Cultural Center, underscoring the importance of cultural heritage and community development.

The visit to Tungipara serves as a poignant reminder of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman's enduring legacy and the ongoing commitment to honor his contributions to the nation.
