Rajshahi, July 2 (V7N)- The Inspector General (IG) of Bangladesh Police, Chowdhury Abdullah Al-Mamun, has clearly stated that the entire force will not take responsibility for any individual's wrongdoing, specifically in the context of the Benzir issue.
On Tuesday afternoon, at the inauguration ceremony of the 32nd anniversary of Rajshahi Metropolitan Police (RMP), IG Mamun responded to a question from journalists. Investigation is ongoing against former IG Benzir Ahmed and several officials over allegations of acquiring substantial illegal wealth.
In response to a related question, the Police Chief stated, 'I want to make it clear that Bangladesh Police will never take responsibility for any individual as a force. The investigation process will determine the truth.'
Regarding the cleanliness campaign, IG said, 'No institution, organization, or force can always remain stable. Due to the changing nature of crimes, we are also modernizing the police force. State-of-the-art equipment is being added. The police force is working for the country with dignity and professionalism. Whenever we receive information about any crime, we take immediate action.'
